Project Scope

In 2016, the Lac du Bonnet Ice Fishing Derby celebrated its 10th Anniversary. As it moved into its 11th year, the Committee made a change to focus on producing a family-friendly event, which spearheaded a rebranding project. The Committee would require a new logo and design elements that fit the new direction and stand out from other similar events.

With the Derby’s target market in mind, the LM Creative team set out to:

  • Create a new logo that worked as a whole or as a graphic element alone (the fish) and could be displayed on anything from business cards to signs and merchandise.

  • Establish branding elements that could be used on different marketing collateral to help establish brand recognition with the target market, sponsors, and supporters.

  • Develop messaging around the new tagline, ‘Where Size Doesn’t Matter,’ ‘family-friendly,’ and ‘Any fish can win.’

  • Successfully created a recognizable brand and brand identity, which is still being used by the Committee today.
